take me with you
A tangible documentation of the usage of a visual diary.
I've wanted to experiment with this for quite a while now, so finally I thought "sod it", and here we are.
To get here you must have seen thunk©— If yes—move to next paragraph, if no—then acquaint yourself here.
Now, in the second edition, as the first one got full (I couldn't believe it either), I decided to document my use of the ideas / sketchbook physically by creating a dust jacket that would collect material from the surface on which it was placed when I was working inside it—and take a shot of it every week.
This documentation was in the form of velcro.
The velcro was cut into characters of the statement 'take me with you' hinting at both the idea of the sketchbook being an extension of the artist / designer (whatever you want to call me or whoever), as it is usually taken everywhere, and the fact that velcro collects the form of materials that it comes into contact with.
All that and it looks and feels nice too.
