leaving the chase
A bit of fun on a not-so-funny occasion.

It's never nice to have to leave anything really. I mean there's a reason action heroes are often heard shouting "I won't lead wid-out you" (that's "I won't leave without you" said in my best Arnie) as it's, well, not nice really is it. The same applied when I left The Chase in 2009, where I'd worked since graduating.
But, there was a funny thing to come of it (or humorous in a strange and disturbing way) which was the way people spoke to me about it. Things that almost implied that I was passing away, when in fact I was simply swapping Deansgate for Manchester's Northern Quarter. So, instead of the somewhat obligatory thank-you-but-sorry-I'm-leaving card, I went for a bit of celebratory (albeit sarcastic) heritage and posted these plaques around the studio: one behind my desk (above), in reception, on the walls where I put up posters, by the kettle, and in the accounts studio.
I also said my thank-you's electronically with an obituary—"Remembering Craig" (that I'll have to dig out)—again a bit of a laugh.
