The original structure for this site was designed by Daniel Eatock in 2001.

Indexhibit is a web application used to build and maintain an archetypal, invisible website format that combines text, image, movie and sound. It places content over style and it was its simplicity that attracted me (not to mention my novice level in the black arts of web programming.)

If you'd like to download Indexhibit and join the community visit www.indexhibit.org. Also have a read of what the lovely fellows over at Creative Review had to say about it by clicking that little mouse on the picture at the very bottom of this page.

I'm a big fan of Daniel's work (my greatest hits being BoymeetsGirl identity, One Stone and Wrapping Paper) and you can view his work here at www.eatock.com. and he also participated in the hand.written.letter.project.

This site was built by me and I must say how easy it is to use. So, now that the age old "I don't know how" excuse is void you ought to give it a try.

Another thing worth mentioning

Sorry to bang on: I just have another thing I would like to say.

And I'm saying this knowing that every graphic designer's website out there has the obligatory "I'm always updating my site" or "I have loads of new stuff to show you" statement. But, I mean it.

This site will change quite frequently— for numerous reasons. One being that I often change my mind (I always employ the overnight test) and so I'm always coming back online and fiddling with things that I should just leave the hell alone.

Another reason is hope. Now, some would call me optimistic here where as others would call me unrealistic, but I have hopes for my website.

You know those websites where you go on because you're really interested in them— be it a companies work, a fansite, or a site that sells bean bags— but one thorough trawl through— click, click—can be enough: to the point where you never have to visit again.

But no. Not Craigy's website.

Like most of my work, I never really create a finished item, they just reach a point in time where I make a decision and move on. But I never fully finish a project. It just climbs over and gets in the back seat with the kids, but I still carry it around. So much so that a time will probably come when all that loading various bits and bobs will make Buckaroo kick and send the entire load flying. I guess that's a way off though.

I will update the site frequently and change almost everything. Images, content and predominately words will all change so that every time you visit you will, hopefully, get a different experience.

In a nutshell I guess its like a news site-slash-big bloody blog.

So that's my plan for this site anyway.

Although © is my personal marque— it also has a more boring and legal use. Now, I could start to fill this page with all that "…all other intellectual property rights in all material… blah, blah, blah… contained within this website… blah, blah, blah… shall remain owned by us and/or our licensors… blah, blah."

You snoring yet?

But, I don't think there is much need for all that— I still trust people.

All the stuff on this website is work that I have done for myself or in cooperation with the company stated. If you like my work (which I hope you all do) and you want to use some of it (for personal use) then by all means get hitting the print button or drag it off, but please, no pinching.

If your mum knew you were stealing you'd get a slap on the wrists and be sent to bed with no supper, but who wants that?

So failing all that, I'm only on the other end of the phone— or even quicker, the end of an Ethernet line— so do be in touch.

Thanking you. Craig.
